Tip for Neck Pain

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on November 11, 2009 by myomegapain

Before you spend hundreds of dollars on chiropractic pillows, consider this easy trick recommended to me by a physical therapist. Roll up a bath towel evenly so that the width of the towel is close to the width of your shoulders. (To see a visual scroll down and watch the video) Slip it into  your pillow case  lengthwise so that the towel is at the base of your neck when you lay flat on it. As you can see from the diagram below, your neck requires extra support, or else you will be spending an average of 8 hours a night straining your muscles.

For detailed instructions on how to roll up the towel so that it is most comfortable, watch this video on Youtube.

This can be tucked beneath your neck instead of a pillow, or placed inside your pillowcase for additional support. For fast relief for neck pain try MyOmega Triple Strength Pain Relief Rub.

For back pain and hard-to-reach areas we recommend MyOmega Targeted Pain Relief Spray.

Studies show Capsaicin-based pain relievers are the way to go! Before you reach for IcyHot® or Bengay®, which use Methyl Salicylate as an active, consider this article (click on the link below). Not only is Methyl Salicylate less effective at relieving pain, but it can also cause an overdose when used excessively. It has the same lethal risks as aspirin. Capsaicin, on the other hand, is naturally derived, safe, effective, and proven to work better over time.

Just one more reason we love MyOmega®

Another MyOmega Pain Survivor!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on July 13, 2009 by myomegapain

“My mother has been suffering from a giant headache for at least 10 weeks. Her doctors treated her for a sinus infect (which she didn’t have) and allergies (which she doesn’t have). At home, we have tried every headache medicine and every home remedy, from inhaling vinegar to foot rubs. I finally had an idea that maybe her arthritis had moved up into her spine so I went to CVS and found a bottle of Myomega. This morning I rubbed it over her shoulders and neck and the relief was instant.”

Capsaicin-Hottest new pain reliever?

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on July 9, 2009 by myomegapain

If you’ve ever eaten spicy food then you’ve encountered Capsaicin. This incredible substance is not just a flavor-booster, though. It has also been shown to relieve muscle aches, joint pain, cramps, and the pain associated with arthritis when applied topically.

Israeli scientists are finding that it has even GREATER potential than we originally thought. “The holy grail of any local anesthetic treatment is to stop pain without causing any other effects,” says Dr. Alexander Binshtok of Tel Aviv University’s Sackler School of Medicine. This goal may actually be achieved with the use of Capsaicin!

By joining Capsaicin with a derivative of Lidocaine, doctors may be able to target pain receptors selectively and reduce the risks that come with anesthesia. This hot new medicine may replace the need for epidurals, which can actually complicate deliveries.

With millions of Americans suffering from chronic pain, this new discovery may be the answer to the perfect anesthetic. One that can target pain directly without side effects. This discovery also makes us realize just how valuable and effective Capsaicin is in relation to pain management. To experience the pain-relieving power of Capsaicin try MyOmega™ Penetrating Heat Therapy Cream with Capsaicin. Not only does it impart a comforting warming sensation, it actually keeps pain from returning when used regularly over time. Get it while it’s hot!

Cell Phone Elbow?

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on June 4, 2009 by myomegapain

Hold the phone! According to the CTIA-Wireless Association, over 250 million Americans subscribe to cell phone service, and over 1 out of 5 households are cell-phone only. It’s one thing to get a work-related injury like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome from typing all day, but now we have to worry about pinched nerves from using our phones??

It turns out Cell Phone Elbow is caused from bending your arm for an extended period of time, which compresses your ulnar nerve. This causes a loss of blood flow, reduced mobility and pain. So what’s a cell phone user to do? Here are some suggestions:

  • Rotate ears frequently. If you feel any tension in your arm, switch hands. This will aid circulation.
  • If you’ve been on the phone for a long time and are feeling tension, swing your arms around and try to loosen them up. Stretching is also extremely beneficial.
  • Go hands free! This is a safe alternative for many reasons. Many people get injured when they’re distracted by their phones. In fact, several people have been badly injured recently because they were tweeting on their phones and not paying attention to what they were doing. These injuries are being called Twinjuries…Please avoid Twinjuries. It’s completely unnecessary and pretty embarrassing.
  • Use your cell phone less. This can be very liberating! Turn it off for an afternoon. If you’re used to getting work calls or stressful texts and time-consuming emails, take a vacation. We managed to get on just fine before we started using cell phones. We can surely survive without them now.
  • If you’re already experiencing Cell Phone Elbow, treatments include injections, ultrasounds to loosen scar tissue, or chiropractic care. Unfortunately, all of these are very expensive.
  • The best thing you can do to relieve your pain quickly is to use a topical pain reliever like MyOmega™. Not only does it work quickly, but it lasts up to 6 hours. Give your forearm a therapeutic rub with MyOmega™ Triple Strength Pain Relief Rub for a blast of cooling relief. A little massage will loosen up your muscles and get you on your way to pain-free cell phone use! For a more intense massage, try MyOmega™ Penetrating Heat Therapy Cream. This timed-release heating cream uses Capsaicin to virtually melt away the pain. Best of all, it works better over time. An excellent choice for the regular cell-phone user.

MyOmega™ is available at CVS or online right here.
